Job Summary

A welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Exeter is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join its successful Science department from September 2026. The Role

  • Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 (Biology Chemistry and Physics) with potential KS5 specialism

  • Planning and delivering engaging well-structured practical and theory-based lessons

  • Supporting pupils with required practicals ISA/required assessments and examination preparation

  • Promoting high standards of laboratory safety and technical precision

  • Encouraging scientific enquiry confidence and independence in practical sessions

  • Monitoring pupil progress and using assessment effectively to raise attainment

  • Contributing to wider STEM initiatives Science Week and extracurricular clubs

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in Biology Chemistry Physics or a related Science subject

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Strong subject knowledge and confident practical classroom delivery

  • High expectations for pupil engagement behaviour and progress

  • A professional organised and positive teaching approach
