Job Summary

A vibrant and well-regarded secondary school in Sheffield is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated DT Teacher to join its successful Design & Technology department from September 2026. The Role

  • Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4 specialising in Resistant Materials/Product Design

  • Planning and delivering engaging well-structured practical and theory-based lessons

  • Supporting pupils with coursework NEA (Non-Exam Assessment) and examination preparation

  • Promoting high standards of workshop safety tool maintenance and health & safety

  • Encouraging creativity precision and independence in design-and-make sessions

  • Monitoring pupil progress and using assessment effectively to raise attainment

  • Contributing to wider school initiatives and extracurricular design challenges

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in Design & Technology Engineering Product Design or a related subject

  • Experience teaching DT at secondary level with a focus on Resistant Materials

  • Strong subject knowledge and confident practical classroom delivery

  • High expectations for pupil engagement behaviour and progress

  • A professional organised and positive teaching approach
