The School Business Manager will oversee the non-teaching functions of the school ensuring that resources are managed effectively to provide the best possible environment for pupil progress and staff development.

The Role

• Managing the schools financial health including budget setting monitoring and long-term financial planning

• Overseeing the schools estate including premises maintenance health & safety and capital projects

• Leading the administrative and support staff teams to ensure efficient daily operations

• Managing Human Resources functions including recruitment payroll liaison and compliance with employment law

• Securing additional funding through grant applications and income-generating initiatives

• Ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements audits and data protection (GDPR)

• Reporting to the Headteacher and Governing Body on financial and operational performance

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• A degree in Business Management Accountancy or a DSBM/CSBM qualification

• Previous experience in a senior administrative or financial role ideally within an education setting

• Proficiency in school MIS and financial software (e.g. FMS SIMS or Arbor)

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage diverse teams

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• A professional resilient and proactive approach to school leadership
