The Role

• Managing the daily operations of the school library and learning resource centre

• Developing and maintaining a diverse high-quality collection of physical and digital resources

• Supporting pupils and staff with research skills digital literacy and academic referencing

• Leading literacy initiatives including reading groups author visits and Book Week events

• Managing the library budget and supervising student librarians or volunteers

• Creating an inclusive welcoming and purposeful environment for independent study

• Collaborating with department heads to ensure resources align with curriculum requirements

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• A degree or professional qualification in Librarianship or Information Management (CILIP recognised preferred)

• Previous experience working in a library or educational environment

• Strong ICT skills and experience with Library Management Systems (LMS)

• A genuine passion for promoting literacy and supporting young peoples learning

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage pupils of all abilities

• A proactive organised and creative approach to resource management
