CPT is seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer to support the Gun Weapon Systems Division (E30) at NSWC Dahlgren. This role directly supports U.S. Navy gun weapon system development evaluation and sustainment programs in a collaborative mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical systems requirements management and engineering design activities supporting E30 Gun Weapon Systems programs.
Conduct mechanical design integration and test evaluation activities using CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Pro/Engineer.
Develop and review engineering drawings design specifications and mechanical systems documentation.
Lead or support mechanical systems integration engineering and design trade studies.
Participate in design reviews Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) evaluations and technical interchange meetings.
Support testing activities including test planning test execution data collection and analysis.
Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams on mechanical interface control and system compatibility.
Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
25 years of professional mechanical engineering experience including design and integration.
Proficiency with mechanical CAD tools (SolidWorks Pro/Engineer or equivalent).
Experience with mechanical systems requirements management and engineering design processes.
Active Secret clearance required.
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience with Gun Weapon Systems or naval surface warfare mechanical systems.
Familiarity with MIL-SPEC engineering documentation and government design review processes.
Experience with mechanical systems testing and evaluation in a DoD environment.
