Job Description

What Youll Do

As our Lab Lead youll be at the center of operationsguiding your team ensuring quality and delivering accurate results that directly impact patient care.

  • Perform moderate & high complexity testing on blood and body fluid specimens

  • Oversee assigned laboratory discipline(s) and daily workflows

  • Ensure accuracy and reliability through QC calibration and maintenance

  • Utilize and maintain proficiency in the Laboratory Information System (LIS)

  • Maintain records and stats in compliance with regulatory standards

  • Collaborate with phlebotomy and clinical staff to ensure proper specimen collection

  • Troubleshoot equipment test methods and specimen issues

  • Train and mentor new staff and students

  • Communicate critical results and issues to medical and nursing teams

  • Review and oversee technical staff performance

  • Support a culture of teamwork accountability and innovation

Leadership Impact

  • Act as a key liaison between lab staff and leadership

  • Help resolve technical and personnel challenges in real time

  • Lead team-building efforts and foster a positive collaborative environment

  • Recommend workflow improvements to enhance patient care

  • Assist in implementing cutting-edge lab technologies

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and go-to problem solver

  • Support staff competency training and performance development

  • Maintain inspection readiness and accreditation compliance at all times

Additional Job Description

What You Bring

  • Bachelors Degree is required

  • Meets CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489) requirements for testing personnel

  • Certification: MLT (ASCP)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with the American Heart Association

  • Strong communication leadership and customer service skills

  • Ability to stay calm and effective in emergency/high-pressure situations
