The Foot Care Practitioner will have the opportunity to providing routine foot care nursing services to residents and clients within the position actively participates in all multidisciplinary meetings to ensure excellence in resident care and uphold the quality of nursing practice in accordance with:College of Nurses of Ontario StandardsLong-Term Care StandardsSouthbridge Care Homes StandardsResponsibilities Ensure resident care is provide with established nursing standards and principles physicians orders and administrative policies as well as observe report symptoms and conditions of residents and initiate remedial health measures where appropriate. Assure observance of required techniques in nursing care. Assess residents and contribute to resident care plans. Monitor residents health notes changes in condition and assess need for referral to doctors. Perform foot care for procedures for which recognized training and current competency can be demonstrated. Observe and document client conditions and changes following proper standards and in accordance with professional . Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care Certification is required. Registration or eligible for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario. Access to reliable transportation and G class license. Willingness to travel between work sites if required. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices as well as knowledge in Infection Control Practices. Effective human relation skills and demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
