Title: Nurse Manager Behavioral Health Psychiatric Unit Management

Seeking an experienced Nurse Manager Behavioral Health to lead psychiatric unit operations at an acute care hospital in Brooklyn NY. This psychiatric nurse manager / behavioral health nursing leader role requires demonstrated experience managing a psych unit in a hospital setting.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of an inpatient psychiatric / behavioral health unit ensuring 24-hour operational leadership and regulatory compliance
- Oversee patient care delivery across all disciplines ensuring clinical competencies PCS Scope of Service and ethical nursing standards are met
- Coordinate interdisciplinary performance improvement activities and compliance with NYSDOH JCAHO OMH DOHMH and ACS regulatory requirements
- Assemble and submit clinical statistical and special reports required by NY State Office of Mental Health and NYC Department of Health regulatory bodies
- Monitor and manage admissions discharges and discharge planning to ensure appropriate clinical management across the behavioral health unit
- Lead budgeting supply management and inventory functions in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Sr. VP of Patient Care Services
- Drive continuous quality improvement (CQI) Root Cause Analysis and HCAHPS development in an integrated psychiatric care setting
Skills:
- Psychiatric unit management / behavioral health unit operations / inpatient psychiatry leadership
- Regulatory compliance: NYSDOH JCAHO NY OMH DOHMH ACS
- Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) / Root Cause Analysis / performance improvement
- Budgeting administrative leadership and nursing department operations
- Electronic health records (EHR) / electronic medical records (EMR) systems proficiency
- Crisis management: PMCS / TRUST certification
- ACLS / Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Oral and written communication; interdisciplinary team collaboration
Qualifications:
- BSN from an accredited nursing school (required); MSN preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience in psychiatry / behavioral health
- Minimum 2 years nursing leadership / nurse manager experience
- MUST HAVE: Direct experience managing a psychiatric unit in a hospital
- Active NY State RN license (required)
- BLS ACLS Crisis Management (PMCS / TRUST) certifications required
