Job Description:
The Travel Pharmacist will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in support of patient safety and high-quality clinical services at an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility. This role supports outpatient and/or inpatient pharmacy operations while ensuring compliance with federal regulations clinical standards and IHS policies. Requirements:
2 years of experience as a Licensed Pharmacist.
Active current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in any U.S. state or territory
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Provide a valid liability insurance
Responsibilities:
Review verify and dispense prescription medications in accordance with federal regulations and facility policies
Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers
Ensure accurate medication order entry and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Monitor drug therapies for appropriateness interactions allergies and adverse reactions
Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes
Maintain compliance with IHS federal and pharmacy practice standards
Support inventory management medication storage and controlled substance procedures
