Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool (Nights)
Location: Rockford Illinois
Facility: Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center Riverside
Job Type: Contract 13 Weeks
Start Date: Immediate / Quick Start Available
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Float Pool team for a night shift assignment. This role supports multiple units including Medical-Surgical Cardiac Telemetry Stroke/Neuro Step-Down ICU and ICU. Candidates must be comfortable working in high-acuity environments and flexible with unit assignments based on patient care needs.
Key Responsibilities - Deliver comprehensive patient care using the nursing process in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards policies and state regulations
- Develop implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Accurately document patient care in accordance with facility standards
- Provide patient and family education to support recovery and care continuity
- Support performance improvement initiatives and shared governance activities
- Utilize clinical judgment and critical thinking to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
- Float to various units as required based on staffing needs
Required Qualifications - Active Illinois RN License
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience including ICU experience (required)
- Strong cardiac care experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (education verification required)
Certifications Required - BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Assignment Details - Shift: Nights (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Positions Available: 4
- EMR System: EPIC
- Holiday Coverage: Required
- Overtime: Applicable per facility guidelines
