Dietician (16-20hrs week)

Responsible for administrative and therapeutic activities related to dietetics. Includes all food operations and supervising resident contact. Has responsibility for contact with Nursing and the Medical Staff. RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assess residents nutritional needs and appropriateness of therapeutic diets. Complete nutritional assessments in Point Click Care (PCC) electronic medical record. Consults with Physician and other health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions for residents. Inspects meals served conformance to prescribed diets and for standards of palatability and appearance. Instructs residents and their families in nutritional principles dietary plans food selection and preparation. Set up and assist in presentation of diet instructions charting. Maintain communication with the Medical and Nursing staff and other departments in setting up procedures policies and problem solving as they relate to resident food service and therapeutics. Maintain ongoing evaluation of resident food service and menus communicate with Production Supervisor. Complete MDS assessments. Responsible for maintaining direct resident dietitian contact and documentation of those visitations and communicating the results to Dietary and Administrative personnel. Attend interdisciplinary team meetings skin care rounds. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Food/Nutrition and one year of experience in a long term care setting with a working knowledge of state documentation procedures. Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and licensed by the State of Massachusetts.
