Job Details
Our companys ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a NC/CNC Machine Set-Up & Operate - 3rd Shift. The core hours are 10:30 pm to 6:30 am. The hourly rate for this position is $25.89 per hour.
What you ll do:
Plan and perform a wide variety of setups and machining operations on all machine shop equipment including engine lathe vertical turret lathe radial drill press spindle drill press shaper surface grinder horizontal and vertical milling machines.
Use all necessary machine attachments select tools feeds and speeds according to material and finish requirements.
Square up and layout production run or special castings for machining operations to fairly close and close tolerances.
Work with a variety of metals such as steel iron brass bronze and aluminum.
Layout machine fit and assemble jigs and fixtures to facilitate own work.
Determine operation sequences make computations for use of dividing head angles tapers fits and assembly.
Check parts for adequate finish allowance defective material or faulty operation.
Maintain equipment machines and work area in a clean safe and orderly condition in compliance with 5s processes.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Minimum two (2) years previous work experience in NC/CNC setup and operation
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Syracuse NY will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum three (3) years previous work experience in NC/CNC setup and operation
