Design Engineer III Job Summary
Location: New Hudson MI 48165
Type: Contract (3-6 months) Onsite Preferred (Hybrid Possible)
Citizenship: US Citizenship Required
Role Impact & Expectations:
As a Design Engineer III you will drive innovation in vehicle and product system design leveraging advanced CAD and simulation tools to optimize engineering solutions. Your expertise in mechanical systems and analytical problem-solving will directly contribute to the development modeling and validation of complex systems. This role requires strong technical communication and a collaborative team approach to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead vehicle and product system design and development efforts
- Conduct system physics modeling and characterization
- Develop and package system/component concepts using Creo CAD
- Apply linear-static FEA for design optimization (ANSYS)
- Generate technical drawings detailing and GD&T application
- Prepare and present concise project status reports
- Develop execute and report on DVP&R testing
- Support customer problem resolution using mechanical analytical and CAE skills
- Prepare technical specifications and develop test methods/procedures
- Respond to manufacturing inquiries and ECRs
Must-Have Skills:
- Minimum 3 years engineering experience
- BS in Mechanical Aerospace or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent)
- Creo CAD Creo Cabling/Wiring
- ANSYS/FEA tools
- Windchill PLM
- Drawing Detailing GD&T
- Electrical fundamentals
- Full vehicle systems understanding
- Strong communication and technical writing
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Parametric 3D modeling
- ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)
- Team player attention to detail strong work ethic
