Job Summary

Job Title: Distributed/Server Service Support Analyst - Remote

Duration (Contract): 18 Months

Client Location: Austin TX

Location Preference: Remote

Job Description:
As a Distributed/Server Service Support Analyst you will serve as a primary point of contact within a mission critical IT Operations Command Center supporting enterprise server environments through incident triage monitoring escalation and change execution. You will ensure reliable 24x7 system operations by collaborating with engineers vendors and stakeholders while providing operational oversight issue coordination and continuous service improvement during overnight shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor enterprise alerts and incidents ensure timely acknowledgment triage escalation and resolution.
  • Serve as liaison between operations teams engineers vendors and business stakeholders.
  • Perform incident and change management activities in line with established operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot distributed server infrastructure issues and support system recovery efforts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and updates in service management and ticketing systems.
  • Provide operational oversight and subject matter guidance to server operators.
  • Coordinate escalation execution issue tracking and stakeholder communication.
  • Support onboarding training and continuous skill development for team members.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service readiness reliability and operational processes.

Required Skills Experiences Education and Competencies:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5 7 years of experience supporting large high availability 24x7 data center environments.
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX and Windows Server operating systems and system internals.
  • Experience with incident event problem and change management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with server monitoring alerting platforms and service management tools.
  • Experience with load balancers networking fundamentals and distributed systems.
  • Scripting experience using administrative languages such as PowerShell Perl or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical decision making documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and operate effectively in high pressure environments.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $60.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills experience location and industry.
