LEAD SHIPPING RECEIVING AGENT

The Lead Shipping and Receiving Agent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all daily shipping and receiving activities t oensure accurate timely and efficient movement of materials supplies and products. This position provides leadership to the shipping/receiving team maintains inventory accuracy ensures compliance with company procedures and supports department goals through strong communication and organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive to this position.)

• Oversee and actively participate in daily shipping and receiving operations including unloading inspecting verifying and storing incoming shipments.
• Ensure all outgoing shipments are accurately packaged labeled documented and dispatched on schedule.
• Lead train and support shipping and receiving team members; provide guidance coaching and daily task assignments.
• Maintain accurate inventory records; perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with purchasing and other departments to ensure proper supply flow.
• Ensure all materials are safely and properly handled stored and distributed according to company policies.
• Communicate with vendors carriers and internal departments to resolve delivery issues or discrepancies.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documents logs and reports.
• Ensure compliance with company standards safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assist management in implementing more efficient workflows.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts pallet jacks and other material-handling tools (training provided if needed).
• Serve as the primary point of contact in the supervisors absence.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/GED required; additional logistics or warehouse training a plus.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in shipping/receiving warehouse operations or logistics.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage completing priorities.
• Proficient with inventory management systems and basic computer applications (such as Excel Shipping Software).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
• Able to effectively communicate in English via verbal and written
