Position Summary:
Works without supervision and will demonstrate expert understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods per ASME 14.5. Demonstrates expert level blueprint reading and manufacturing/inspection related math skills and the ability to program Coordinate Measuring Machines/Scanners (CMM). In addition will demonstrate the ability to review and critique AS9102 reports. May be expected to provide leadership and assistance to lower level inspectors as well as provide input in creating new inspection processes. Typically 5 years of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with NC programmers to develop CMM programs
- Create mechanical inspection processes and procedures
- Review and critique AS9102 reports created by lower level inspectors
- Customer Liaison for Discrepant Parts Tag write ups and defect descriptions.
Required Skills:
- CMM programing
- Advanced competencies in mechanical inspection techniques
- Ability to create diagrams bubble drawings
- Technical writing (2 years plus) ability to create detailed work instructions and customer communication
- Computer proficiency in required software (MS Suite CATIA PC-DMIS etc.)
Required Experience:
- Requires evidence of successfully mastering level three competencies and at least three years of experience in the aerospace industry.
- Typically 5 years of experience
Level of Education:
- GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
- Certification or two year degree preferred but not required.
