Job Summary
Job Title: Senior Executive-Logistics & Custom clearance Location: Chennai
Job Overview:
The role is responsible for managing secondary transportation and reverse logistics operations ensuring timely dispatches route optimization and cost efficiency. It involves monitoring shipment performance coordinating with transporters and internal teams ensuring compliance and documentation and tracking key logistics KPIs to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and execute secondary transportation and reverse logistics.
•
Ensure timely placement of vehicles as per dispatch schedules.
•
Optimize routes to reduce transit time and cost.
•
Negotiate freight rates and monitor transporter performance.
•
Monitor daily dispatches and ensure adherence to timelines.
•
Track shipments to ensure on-time delivery with in SLA.
•
Ensure POD (Proof of Delivery) collection and documentation.
•
Monitor freight costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
•
Analyse freight trends and suggest improvements.
•
Ensure compliance with statutory and company policies.
•
Manage e-way bills invoices and transport documentation.
•
Handle audits related to logistics and transportation.
•
Work closely with warehouse sales and customer service teams.
•
Communicate delivery status and resolve escalations.
•
Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports on dispatch cost and performance.
•
Track KPIs such as on-time delivery vehicle utilization and cost per km. Requirements
•
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Supply Chain or related field
•
3–6 years of experience in transportation/logistics operations
•
Strong knowledge of route planning freight negotiation and dispatch management
•
Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/logistics systems
•
Good communication coordination and problem-solving skills
