AWS INFRA administrator

Job Description:

Core Responsibilities

Linux Platform Administration

• Administer SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) / RHEL systems optimized for SAP workloads.
• Perform OS installation patching and lifecycle management.
• Manage:
  • LVM and filesystem management
  • Kernel tuning
  • System resource optimization
  • Performance troubleshooting
• Implement SAP recommended OS configurations using SAP Notes.

SAP Infrastructure Support

• Support SAP landscapes including:
  • SAP NetWeaver
  • SAP S/4HANA
  • SAP HANA databases
• Work closely with SAP Basis teams for system maintenance and upgrades.
• Understand SAP landscape components including:
  • Application servers
  • Central services
  • Database servers
  • Web dispatchers

SAP HANA Platform Administration

Support infrastructure components of SAP HANA environments including:

• SAP HANA System Replication
• Supporting HANA backup and recovery infrastructure
• Troubleshooting OS level issues affecting HANA performance
• Understanding HANA scale-up and scale-out architectures
• Storage and memory optimization for HANA workloads

High Availability (HA) Cluster Administration

Implement and maintain SAP certified HA clusters using:

• Pacemaker
• Corosync

Hands-on experience required in:

• Cluster configuration
• Resource agents
• Cluster failover troubleshooting
• Cluster monitoring

Specific knowledge required in:

• STONITH configuration
• Fencing agents
• SAP HANA cluster resource agents
• Cluster quorum and fencing mechanisms

Experience with:

• SAP HANA automatic failover
• Cluster resource management

AWS Infrastructure Management

Manage SAP workloads running in AWS cloud environments.

Hands-on experience required in:

Compute

• EC2 instance management
• SAP certified instance types
• Instance resizing and scaling

Storage

• EBS volume management
• Storage performance tuning
• Snapshot management

Networking

• VPC configuration
• Subnets and routing
• Security groups
• Network ACLs

DNS

• Route 53 configuration
• DNS troubleshooting for SAP landscapes

Monitoring

• CloudWatch metrics and alerts
• Infrastructure monitoring

Advanced SAP HA in AWS

Experience supporting SAP HA architectures on AWS including:

• SAP HANA System Replication in AWS
• Floating IP / Overlay IP mechanisms
• Pacemaker cluster integration with AWS
• Automated failover in multi-AZ deployments

Understanding of:

• SAP HA reference architectures for AWS
• SAP recommended AWS deployment models

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

Perform deep troubleshooting across multiple layers:

OS Level

• CPU
• Memory
• I/O bottlenecks
• Kernel issues

Cluster Level

• Pacemaker logs
• Corosync communication issues
• Failover failures

Cloud Infrastructure

• Network connectivity issues
• DNS failures
• Storage performance issues

SAP Platform

• HANA replication issues
• OS performance affecting SAP systems

Security & Compliance

• Implement Linux system hardening.
• Manage IAM policies and roles in AWS.
• Apply security patches and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain compliance with enterprise security policies.
