Manufacturing Engineer
About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer serves as a key technical resource supporting both manufacturing operations and installed automation systems. This role focuses on designing and optimizing processes to deliver cost-effective high-quality production of complex robotic systems. The engineer will manage work order execution for new builds and spare parts while working closely with supply chain customer care and engineering teams to streamline manufacturing flow and support the full product lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues on complex robotic systems including electro-mechanical assemblies pneumatics infrared laser markers and vision systems.
- Develop and continuously improve manufacturing and field service processes with a focus on quality efficiency equipment availability and cost reduction.
- Investigate design and production issues then author Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to drive corrective actions and improvements.
- Design and procure custom tools and equipment to enhance manufacturing quality and productivity.
- Establish standardized manufacturing methods and workflows to ensure efficient product flow through assembly testing and shipping.
- Create detailed work instructions and manufacturing processes for new products as well as updates to existing ones.
- Provide technical support to supply chain partners focusing on quality improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead initiatives to identify and implement effective outsourcing strategies.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
- Create manage and maintain manufacturing work orders including routings and process documentation.
- Verify manufacturing compliance and properly disposition inventory according to approved ECNs.
- Collaborate with Customer Care to minimize equipment downtime and resolve field issues.
- Develop models to forecast end-of-life timelines for automation equipment.
- Conduct Bill of Materials audits and maintain accuracy across systems.
- Support manufacturing process development for both new and legacy products.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or
- Associates degree with 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or
- High school diploma with 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- 3 years of hands-on experience supporting complex electro-mechanical systems laser markers and pneumatic systems.
- 3 years of experience participating in engineering change processes.
- 2 years of experience using 3D CAD tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 years of experience using SolidWorks.
- 2 years of experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles in a high-tech low-volume production environment.
- 1 years of experience working directly with suppliers to improve quality and reduce costs.
- 1 years of experience using data analysis tools such as Tableau or Salesforce.
Additional Requirements
- Solid understanding of ERP systems and manufacturing workflows.
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while upholding high quality standards.
- Strong communication organizational and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Visio PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds including tools inventory and equipment.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
