Portfolio Manager (Energy market BESS)

We develop build and operate utility-scale BESS projects and are actively expanding across Northern Europe with projects in the Netherlands Belgium and Germany. For our Energy Desk in Amsterdam we are looking for a Portfolio Manager who will take the lead and structurally elevate our commercial performance.

What will you do

As a Portfolio Manager you operate at the commercial heart of our organization. You are the strategic and analytical driving force behind the Energy Desk. You carry full P&L responsibility for GIGAs operational BESS portfolio and play a key role in smart forward-looking contracting of our growing asset base. Your goal: maximize revenues manage risks and consistently outperform market expectations.

You will work closely with colleagues from Route-to-Market Origination Implementation & Contract Management and Asset Operations. You act as the connecting link making the financial impact of operational decisions transparent to the Management Team and our investors.

You carry P&L responsibility for GIGAs operational BESS portfolio across the Netherlands Belgium and Germany. This portfolio represents tens of millions in revenue in its first year and is expected to grow significantly as more assets become operational.

This role is not just about managing an existing portfolio. You will play a key role in building the commercial and operational foundation of our Energy Desk. As we are scaling rapidly you will help shape how we operate contract and optimize our assets going forward. This makes it a unique opportunity to join at an early stage and have a direct impact on how the Energy Desk is set up.

Your responsibilities include:

• Portfolio oversight and full P&L ownership of the GIGA asset portfolio

• Developing short- and mid-term portfolio strategies with a three-year horizon

• Building in-house benchmarks to challenge external optimizers

• Defining market and trading strategies across energy and flexibility markets

• Monitoring contractual obligations under all RtM contracts

• Performing scenario analyses and identifying risks

• Leading Trading/Portfolio Committee meetings

You report directly to the Head of Energy Desk.

What do you bring

• At least 5 years of experience in the energy sector including a minimum of 2 years on an energy desk at an optimizer or utility

• In-depth knowledge of energy and flexibility markets: day-ahead intraday imbalance FCR aFRR

• Strong analytical skills and proven experience with modeling

• A completed degree in economics engineering or a quantitative field

• A proactive entrepreneurial mindset and comfort in a fast-growing environment

• The ability to challenge both internal and external stakeholders

• You are fluent in English; Dutch is not required but considered a plus

This role is based in Amsterdam. We work in a hybrid setup where you are expected to be present in the office at least three days per week
