Remote Cantonese English Medical Interpreter

Language Bridge Solutions is currently seeking CantoneseEnglish Interpreters to support healthcare communication through Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) and Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI).

This is a remote opportunity open to candidates globally with preference given to applicants based in Malaysia and Singapore.

In this role you will facilitate real-time communication between healthcare providers and Cantonese-speaking patients ensuring that all information is conveyed clearly and accurately. You will support a range of medical interactions including consultations follow-ups telehealth visits and general patient-provider communication.

Interpreters are expected to deliver complete and accurate interpretation while maintaining professionalism neutrality and attention to detail. You will also be responsible for preserving tone intent and meaning across both languages.

You will work in a structured remote environment where clear communication and reliability are essential. Cultural awareness is important as you will support communication across different backgrounds helping both parties feel understood.

Additionally you will use remote interpreting platforms for both video and audio sessions ensuring smooth communication and resolving minor technical issues when needed. Training will be provided to support your development and help you succeed in the role.

Requirements

Candidates can be based worldwide with preference for those located in Malaysia and Singapore.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Applicants must be native or near-native Cantonese speakers with advanced English proficiency (C1 or higher) with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both languages.

Strong communication and listening skills are essential along with attention to detail and accuracy. Candidates should be professional customer-oriented and adaptable to different situations.

Previous experience in interpretation is a plus but not required. Candidates without prior experience are welcome to apply as training will be provided.

A quiet secure and distraction-free workspace is required to ensure confidentiality during all sessions.
