Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Pūkenga/Pūkenga Matua Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Mechatronics to join Te Kura Mātai Pūkaha Pūrorohiko - School of Engineering and Computer science on a permanent full-time this role you will be responsible for teaching research and for shaping our new Mechatronics programme at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington.

Key responsibilities:

• Research: Lead groundbreaking research projects in the field of Mechatronics focusing on areas such as robotics automation systems engineering space engineering medical technologies and sensor technology.
• Teaching: Deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate courses inspiring students to become future leaders in the field.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to students fostering their academic and professional growth.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with industry partners government agencies and other academic institutions to advance the field of Mechatronics.
• Service: Contribute to the department and university through service activities and leadership roles.

Key requirements:

• Ph.D. in Mechatronics or a closely related field.

• Experience in industry or academia demonstrating a deep understanding of the field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
