Role Summary and Impact
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and aspiring Media Planning Executive (Travel Retail) working for a globally renowned leader in the luxury beauty industry celebrated for its heritage of prestige skincare makeup and fragrance. You will play a crucial supporting role in the development and execution of integrated media planning and client servicing for the Travel Retail business unit across key APAC markets. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented media professional capable of supporting day-to-day campaign workflows campaign planning and ensuring excellent coordination with travel retail partners data partners and activation teams across local markets particularly in China. This role will be instrumental in supporting the Travel Retail Director and Managers to achieve their objectives.
Skills and Experience
What you will do:
- Integrated Media Strategy & Planning:Support the development of comprehensive insight-driven media plans across key APAC markets spanning both digital and traditional channels. Assist in ensuring plans are rooted in consumer understanding and aligned to business objectives encompassing both Brand and Performance media across OTA platforms on-platform Search Social Programmatic airport DOOH in-flight magazines and online-to-offline activations.
- Campaign Excellence & Execution Oversight:Support the Activation Teams in ensuring accurate and timely campaign execution. Develop a strong working knowledge of digital campaign requirements. Assist in maintaining rigour and accuracy for campaign tracking performance optimization and delivery standards.
- Reporting:Assist in the creation of in-flight and post-campaign reporting contributing to clear and actionable performance insights for the client.
- Client Leadership & Stakeholder Management:Support the team in managing day-to-day client communication and requests. Participate in client conversations assisting with the preparation of media plans performance updates and new opportunities under guidance.
- Market & Cross-Function Collaboration:Collaborate effectively with local WPP Media teams across APAC markets for local market activation particularly with the activation team based in China to support day-to-day outputs.
- Retail & OTA Partner Collaboration:Assist in coordinating effectively with both retail and Online Travel Agency (OTA) partners for campaign planning audience activation and technical integrations for seamless tracking. Support troubleshooting efforts with partners while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Innovation & Research:Support the Travel Retail Director and Managers in researching and bringing forward-thinking ideas such as platform innovations first-to-market activations and new partners to the client. Assist in working with media partners and local teams to develop these ideas.
- Account Operations Support:Assist in ensuring smooth account operations including adherence to globally defined media thresholds sufficiency exercises PO trackers monthly billing inputs and reporting cadences.
Measures of Success:
In 3 Months:
- Establish relationships with Travel Retail client contacts internal teams and key partners.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the clients business brand portfolio media approach and historical campaign performance across APAC markets.
- Successfully contribute to ongoing media plan execution and campaign implementation.
- Understand and support the team in ensuring robust KPI-setting and tracking frameworks are in place across active campaigns.
In 6 Months:
- Independently manage specific tasks within media planning and client servicing for key campaigns with guidance from the Travel Retail Director and Managers for client conversations and presentations.
- Contribute proactively to insight-led discussions that enhance campaign performance and identify potential growth opportunities.
- Demonstrate strong ownership of assigned tasks and a proactive approach to learning
In 12 Months:
- Become a reliable and integral member of the account team consistently delivering high-quality support and contributing to client satisfaction.
- Build a track record of proactive support and measurable contributions to campaign impact.
- Demonstrate a growing understanding of the Travel Retail media landscape and client objectives.
What you will need:
- At least 1 year of media planning experience with a strong track record in integrated digital and traditional media planning within a media agency environment.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and experience with the Chinese media landscape is an advantage due to the clients youll be working with in the role.
- Working knowledge of digital media platforms including paid social (Meta TikTok) search (Google) and programmatic; offline media knowledge is an added advantage.
- Some experience in client interaction or a strong desire to develop client-facing skills ideally within a multi-market APAC environment.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to support the development of insight-driven media strategies aligned to client business objectives.
- Excellent organizational operational and numeracy skills with strong attention to detail.
- Clarity in written and spoken communication.
- A proactive solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including formulas) and Microsoft PowerPoint.
