Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nursefor Cornell 2- our Neuro Oncology unit! This is a full-time Rotating Shift position in Charlottesville VA. The hours will be confirmed based on business needs. Night shift is 7p to 7a day shift 7a to 7p.

Cornell 2: Our Medical/Surgical Unit specializes in Neuro Oncology urology vascular and chest tube care providing a dynamic environment for experienced nursing professionals and new graduates. With a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5/1:6 youll develop your skills while receiving mentorship from experienced staff. We care for a diverse patient population including those with CHF COPD oncology patients with neutropenia or new diagnoses and amputations. Operating on 12-hour shifts with weekend rotations we offer comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development to foster collaboration and growth in your nursing career. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment diagnosis outcomes identification planning implementation coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics culturally congruent practice communication collaboration leadership education evidence- based practice /nursing research quality evaluation resource utilization and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Education

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)

• Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.

Certification/Licensure

• Registered nursing License (Required)

• Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.

• BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

• None required

• 1 year of acute care (preferred)

• Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
