Job Summary
At the direction of a physician registered nurse advanced practice provider or other licensed professional provides assistance with physical medicine treatments and procedures performed by physiatrists including but not limited to regenerative medicine procedures ultrasound guided injections botulinum toxin injections and advanced procedures such as dupytren contracture needle aponeurotomy needle tenotomy Tenex tenotomy etc. This includes the use of ultrasound machines drawing of medications and maintaining a sterile field. Monitors patients during procedures and communicates change/concerns with team members; demonstrates understanding of PM&R procedures and medical terminology related to duties; demonstrates a basic knowledge of aseptic sterile procedures and proper body mechanics related to patient care; maintains a clean and safe work environment including ordering/maintenance of equipment and supplies; demonstrates knowledge of basic computer programs; assists with clerical and administrative tasks as assigned. Position requires the ability to multi-task in a fast paced and unpredictable environment. Performs auto-transfusion services related to the regenerative medicine practice adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP) involving multiple methodologies. Assists with PM&R Resident orientation in the procedure clinic.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. Additional education experience and procedural skills preferred. Within six months must complete procedure specific training and certification for Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentration (BMAC) Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Tenex and other training as new procedures are introduced to the practice. Must obtain a certificate of completion for Research Participant Tracking (Ptrax) and Human Subject Protection within six months. Ability to use electronic equipment which may include computers telephones and video cameras is required. Interpersonal skills are required for effective communication. Must complete Mayo Phlebotomy training program within three months. Prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Ability to work flexible hours which may include extended days to accommodate procedural practice. Attains and maintains necessary training to operate varied pieces of complex equipment including ultrasound machines centrifuges and other special procedural equipment.
