Geographic Information Systems Intern

AECOM is seeking a GIS Intern be based in Baltimore Maryland.

This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Works under direct supervision performing moderately complex technical work utilizing instructions drawings sketches and results from computer systems and schematics.
• May perform some data entry.
• Utilize GIS to produce display and analyze spatial information.
• Works with databases reports and mapping.
• Perform data conversion from multiple formats (PDF TIFF JPEG CAD) into GIS datasets.
• Develop maps and map products (map books visual aids slides) utilizing GIS data.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Geographic Information Science Geography Environmental Science Data Science Water Resource Engineering or Computer Science.
• Must have completed 2 years of study in the applicable program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ESRI ArcGISPro and ArcGIS Online.
• Strong understanding of spatial data.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong desire to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Develop web maps (AGOL ArcGIS Portal) and Esri field solutions (ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123) for project staff to collect review project data and maintain online services.
• Experience working with underground utility (e.g. water wastewater sewer and/or stormwater) industry environmental/natural resources.
• Experience reading technical drawings.
