Senior Oracle DB Developer

Your influential mission. You will... 

• Develop enhance and maintain Oracle database code including SQL and PL/SQL (procedures packages functions).
• Analyse and improve existing database designs and legacy implementations often created outside the DBA team.
• Work closely with application developers to review optimise and stabilise database interactions.
• Investigate and resolve performance data integrity and reliability issues across Oracle and PostgreSQL environments.
• Support and improve monitoring alerting and operational visibility of database systems.
• Contribute to the gradual standardisation of database practices coding guidelines and tooling.
• Participate in adhoc projects and scripts helping turn tactical solutions into more maintainable ones where possible.
• Assist with PostgreSQL workloads as the platform adoption grows.
• Document findings improvements and technical decisions to support knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications :

Components for success. You 

• Have strong handson experience with Oracle Database.
• Bring excellent SQL and PL/SQL skills including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Are experienced in working with existing and legacy database systems.
• Understand how applications interact with databases in realworld environments.
• Are comfortable operating in setups with shared or evolving ownership.
• Demonstrate solid problemsolving skills and a pragmatic improvementdriven mindset.
• Work well in close collaboration with DBAs developers and other technical teams.

• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Exposure to GCP and managed database services.
• Familiarity with database migrations or refactoring efforts.
• Scripting or automation skills (e.g. Python Bash).
• Basic knowledge of MS SQL Server.

Candidate will be joining a team of six database professionals combining DBA and development skills.

Our environment is largely Oraclecentric with a growing footprint in PostgreSQL and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Daytoday work spans a mix of legacy solutions adhoc scripts and evolving ownership.

As a team we focus on bringing structure stability and best practices to the database layerimproving performance observability and maintainabilitywhile working closely with application developers to gradually increase database ownership and technical consistency.
