Pernod Ricard Benelux is the combination of two affiliates Pernod Ricard Belgium and Pernod Ricard Nederland.
Key Stakeholders
The Head of Accounting will be a strong right- arm for the Benelux CFO and will be part of the Benelux leadership team.
He/she will closely collaborate with all other local functions with finance and back-office peers. Strong relationships as well with partners within the Pernod Ricard Group (in regional and headquarters finance teams and regional Tech hub).
External stakeholders: local authorities banks insurance companies auditors tax and legal experts
Key Responsibilities
Deliver highquality accounting services for Pernod Ricard Belgium Pernod Ricard Nederland and six Dutch holding entities
Oversee general ledger accounting monthly closing processes and preparation of financial statements
Ensure accuracy and compliance with local GAAP and IFRS standards
Prepare statutory accounts and IFRS adjustments for Group reporting
Manage relationships with external auditors coordinate audits internally and ensure compliance with audit requirements
Oversee treasury and cash management activities including cash flow monitoring and banking relationships
Support cash forecasting and liquidity management
Ensure accurate reporting of cash actuals and forecasts to the Group
Identify and implement levers to optimize cash management
Oversee corporate tax VAT and other statutory tax filings
Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and optimize the tax position
Ensure compliance with tax legal and regulatory requirements
Maintain and continuously strengthen internal control procedures related to accounting
Oversee relationships with banks and insurance companies
Act as a finance business partner by providing financial insights to support decisionmaking
Collaborate closely with FP&A on reporting and forecasting
Work with HQ teams on Group initiatives and projects (e.g. CSRD reporting quarterly close optimization)
Actively contribute to the accounting transformation roadmap
Work closely with the project management team on the implementation of a new ERP system
Contribute to process improvements within the ERP and across existing workflows
Drive harmonization across entities by fostering a oneteam mindset
Harmonize processes identify synergies and align roles and responsibilities
Identify required system evolutions and collaborate closely with Tech teams to deliver them
Ensure effective and seamless change management
Identify and implement simplification opportunities to streamline workload
Drive continuous improvement and automation of accounting processes
Directly manage and lead a team of six people
Coach and support team members to develop skills and ensure business continuity
Identify training needs and ensure appropriate development and support are provided
Your Profile
- Degree in Accounting or a Masters degree in Business Management with a strong specialization in Accounting
- 10 years of professional experience in accounting and/or audit gained in an international or complex environment
- Strong technical expertise in:
- Financial and analytical accounting
- Local accounting standards (Belgian and/or Dutch GAAP) and IFRS
- Tax compliance and internal control frameworks
- Cash and treasury management
- Financial reporting and statutory accounts
- Solid experience working with accounting systems and ERP environments (Navision and/or JD Edwards is a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills and strong affinity for systems and data
- Proven experience in managing coaching and developing a team
