Job Summary

The Network Engineer will work closely with senior members of the team to maintain the integrity of Vistras OT network for GCS following NERC CIP guidelines. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing implementing and supporting GCS network systems for real-time systems.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

Design deploy and maintain network infrastructures.
Configure and optimize network performance security and reliability.
Collaborate with project managers architects and other stakeholders.
Conduct network assessments and audits.
Troubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis.
Document network configurations and best practices.
Stay current with emerging technologies.

Provide technical support to clients and internal teams

provide support for setting up IPSec tunnels necessary to integrate new resources as Vistra portfolio grows

Upkeeping of systems security per regulatory compliance obligations

Be on-call on rotation schedule for 24x7 support of GCS network

Education Experience & Skill Requirements

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field or related experience gained through college degree programs and or certifications in related field
3 years of experience in network engineering or a related field.
Strong understanding of networking concepts protocols and technologies.
Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Palo Alton Cisco Fortinet Juniper Arista etc.
Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools and interfacing with terminal server and RTU is preferred.
Familiarity with Panorama TACACS Splunk TripWire etc.

Good Experience in Managing a fleet of firewalls through Panorama including the below features

  • Centrally manage policies
  • Upgrade and patch management from Panorama
  • Monitor and troubleshoot from Panorama
  • Good knowledge of LSVPN including running OSPF over LSVPN
  • Setting up B2B VPN tunnels with third parties

Good knowledge of IP Address management (IPAM) Active Directory and DNS
