The Position

The People Support Operations Specialist combines being the first point of contact for P&C-related enquiries for all Roche people with executing Employee Lifecycle Management (ELM) activities.

While this role is integrated into the global PSO (People Support Operations) structure and supports general ELM processes it carries a specialized focus on the Spanish market. Initially the primary mission is the end-to-end creation and management of Spanish labor contracts. As the role evolves and efficiencies are gained the specialist will expand their contribution to other P&C processes ensuring a dynamic and growth-oriented career path.

Your Key Responsibilities

1. Specialized Service Delivery (Spain Focus)

  • Contract Management: Lead the exclusive creation of Spanish labor contracts ensuring 100% legal compliance.
  • Legal Advisory: Interpret and apply the Spanish Workers Statute (Estatuto de los Trabajadores) and the General Social Security Law to daily operations.
  • Collective Agreements: Analyze and apply different Collective Bargaining Agreements (Convenios Colectivos) regarding specific clauses wages and working hours.
  • Labor Reform Expert: Execute contract modalities following the latest labor reforms (e.g. fijos-discontinuos production-based or EU-funded contracts).
  • Inquiry Resolution: Provide expert support on Spanish P&C policies and administrative activities via the People Portal (chat tickets).

2. Operational Excellence & Data Integrity

  • Workday Maintenance: Execute system data maintenance for recruiting onboarding and employee movements with high accuracy.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline the contract creation process and contribute to the update of SOPs/Work Instructions.
  • Compliance: Display high integrity and comply with Roche guidelines specifically regarding Data Privacy (GDPR) and Spanish labor regulations.

3. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Matrix Environment: Work independently within a matrix organization collaborating with regional and global peers to ensure consistent service.
  • Relationship Building: Proactively manage relationships with Talent Acquisition Business Partners and the ELM team in Budapest.

Who You Are

Academic & Technical Background

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Labor Relations & Human Resources Law or Business Administration (ADE). Also similar university background will be evaluated.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in HR services or customer service environments.
  • Technical Skills: * Deep knowledge of the Spanish legal labor framework.
  • Proficiency in Workday HR processes.
  • Efficient handling of Google Suite.

  • Language: Native/Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is essential along with strong professional English (written and spoken).
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced changing and multicultural environment.
  • Proactivity: A growth mindset with the ability to take ownership of tasks and seek continuous learning.
  • Communication: Strong ability to create a positive dialogue with stakeholders to understand and solve their needs.
