Senior Staff Nurse Pediatrics Team

Suncoast Hospice a member of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated Senior Staff Nurse to join our Pediatrics team while providing exceptional care on the following schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p

What youll Do

• Coordinates the nursing component of care on the IDT. Provides coverage/assistance to team members as needed and patient acuity dictates to ensure continuity of care for all patients on the team. Assures assignments and redistribution of nursing caseloads. Coordinates team staffing needs with the Pediatric Manager other teams and additional staffing resources.
• Assist Care Pediatric Manager with coordination of the Interdisciplinary weekly IDT meeting.
• Coordinate the Team responsibility of providing 24 hours a day 7 days a week patient care. Involves planning nursing back-up and on-call persons when necessary to ensure quality and continuity of patient/family care.
• Assists Pediatric Manager with on-site supervisory visits of Hospice Aide and Nursing staff. Collaborates with the Pediatric Manager on screening selecting evaluating coaching and corrective action of staff members as appropriate.
• Serves as a team representative/liaison with other professionals including physicians hospitals nursing homes assisted living facilities resource agencies and the medical community.

What Youll Need

• Education and/or Experience: Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licensure:
  • Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse
  • Valid Florida State Drivers License
• Continuing education: As required for licensure
• Certifications: Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Required: at least (1) year of clinical pediatric experience.
• Strong preference for at least one (1) year supervisory experience.
