Job Summary
School Counselor
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:Exempt Position; 10 months; Full Time; Starting 26-27 school year
SALARY:Salary placement will be determined by the NC Salary Schedule based on license and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:NC School Counselor License Required
DUTIES:Responsible for instructional program as outlined in the NC Common Core/Essential Standards; guide individuals and groups of students through the development of educational plans; provide goal-oriented counseling sessions in response to identified needs such as academics attendance diversity mental health behavior management crisis intervention homelessness child abuse and neglect peer or family issues or other relevant topics; participate in the student intervention team process; assist students and family in gaining access to community resources and scholarship opportunities; adhere to ethical professional and legal standards; meet with maintain confidentiality of student records and information; other duties assigned by superintendent or principal.
