We are seeking an English Teacher who can foster a genuine love for reading and writing while maintaining high academic standards. This position involves teaching a broad range of texts across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 focusing on developing students critical thinking and analytical skills.
The Department
You will work within a department that has a rich library of resources including contemporary fiction classic literature and diverse non-fiction texts.
The team follows a collaborative planning model allowing teachers to share innovative schemes of work and reduce individual administrative tasks.

Core Responsibilities
Planning and delivering engaging English Language and Literature lessons that challenge students of all ability levels.
Developing students ability to analyze complex texts and express their ideas with clarity and sophistication.
Marking and assessing student work in line with department policies to ensure consistent progress and targeted intervention.
Implementing creative strategies to improve literacy standards and encourage reading for pleasure across the school.
Managing a classroom environment that promotes respectful discussion and active participation from all pupils.
The Successful Candidate We are looking for a specialist who is enthusiastic about the power of language and the importance of storytelling. Requirements include
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English Literature Language or a related field.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire students through a deep knowledge of the subject.
A strong understanding of current GCSE assessment criteria and national curriculum requirements.
A commitment to inclusive practice and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
