ABOUT THE ROLE
For our Milan Offices we are currently seeking a highly skilled and creative Knitwear Designer to join our Design team.
The Knitwear Designer will be responsible for the design and creative development of mens and womens knitwear collections working closely with both Creative Director and the Design Director and collaborating daily with the Senior Knitwear Product Developer who will manage instead the technical development and production of the collection with external vendors.
KEY REPSONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop seasonal menswear and womenswear knitwear collections in line with the Brands creative vision positioning and high quality standards
- Work in close partnership with both Creative Director and the Design Director contributing to concept development and collection storytelling
- Collaborate closely and daily with the Senior Knitwear Product Developer to ensure an effective translation of designs into production-ready garments
- Define yarns stitches gauges and construction details in alignment with the Brands luxury standards
- Prepare accurate and detailed design briefs and creative inputs for product development
- Review prototypes and samples ensuring excellence in quality fit and craftsmanship
- Participate in fittings sample reviews and collection approvals providing clear and structured feedback
- If needed visit vendors and suppliers for sample confirmations quality checks and defect resolution
- Conduct ongoing trend material and innovation research alongside with the Milan fabric R&D team
- Any other ad hoc task.
PROFILE & KEY SKILLS
- Minimum 5 years of previous experience as a Knitwear Designer with a strong and proven focus on knitwear
- Solid experience in designing both menswear and womenswear knitwear collections
- In-depth knowledge of knitwear techniques yarns constructions and manufacturing processes
- Strong aesthetic sensibility and attention to detail with a luxury-oriented mindset
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and international environment
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Able to work under pressure and manage peak workload periods effectively
- Working proficiency both in English and Italian is mandatory
- Availability for occasional business trips
