Job Summary

Title : Information Technology Project Manager

Location : Pierre SD (Remote with occasional travel)

Duration : 12 months Contract

Client is seeking a qualified individual to provide project management for the Division of Child Support. The role supports information system transformation projects and enterprise-level IT implementations. The project involves leading design development and implementation of information system transformation efforts; defining business and technical requirements; managing large-scale enterprise and smaller projects; coordinating teams and vendors; ensuring governance timelines and budget; and mentoring state personnel.

Type of Project: IT Project Management / Information System Transformation / Child Support System Modernization support.

Required Skills:

Knowledge of child support program policies procedures and business practices.
Experience on child support system modernization projects.
Successful experience managing information technology solutions.
PMP certification or equivalent working experience.
Knowledge of various software development methodologies (agile waterfall DevOps etc.)
Experience in successfully applying project management and project governance principles.

Activities include but are not limited to:

Leading the design development and implementation of various information system transformation projects.
Providing strategic direction to the agency.
Assisting with defining strategic direction of enterprise level IT implementations.
Defining business and technological requirements by consulting with product owner subject matter experts and scrum teams to define business needs and objectives.
Providing project management of highly complex large scale enterprise projects and smaller scale projects.
Leading and coordinating efforts of development teams and vendors to ensure solutions are implemented successfully.
Ensuring project governance and monitoring controls are in place.
Ensuring project design development and implementation are on time and budget.
Mentoring state personnel in project management and over time potentially train state resources to take over this function.
