About the role
As a Banking Clerk you will be responsible for the accurate processing and allocation of customer payments ensuring all receipting banking and reconciliations are completed correctly and on time. Youll also support credit control activities and assist the wider finance team as required.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Processing bank uploads direct credits cheques and credit card payments
- Allocating customer payments accurately against invoices
- Reconciling high-volume transactions and investigating discrepancies
- Responding to payment-related customer queries and processing refunds
- Supporting credit control activities for overdue accounts
- Preparing accurate credit and debit notes
- Ensuring all records are complete compliant and audit-ready
Accuracy attention to detail and consistency are essential - this is a role where quality matters just as much as speed.
Qualifications :

- Previous experience in banking receipting accounts receivable or a finance-related role
- Strong numerical ability and exceptional attention to detail
- Confidence working with high-volume repetitive financial data
- A calm reliable approach when working to tight daily deadlines
- A team-first mindset - someone who pitches in and communicates well
Requirements for the role:
- Permanent full-time hours
- Ability to work 100% in the office for the first 6 months (WFH may be considered later in line with company policy)
- Proven ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
Skills & Experience that are essential:
- Strong reconciliation skills with consistently high accuracy
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel capability
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Cash handling and banking experience
- Comfort working with financial systems (AS/400 experience is an advantage)
