Role Overview

Working with the Flinders Ports maintenance and operations teams the Maintenance Planner / Scheduler is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all day-to-day maintenance activities across the departments. The role manages service requests and work orders prior to and post completion of work to ensure optimised maintenance schedules are delivered and accurate work completion data is maintained. The role manages the maintenance planning function for internal maintenance teams and contractors.

The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler reports directly to Flinders Ports Maintenance Manager and is responsible for:

  • Identifying and managing risks associated with maintenance work including planning for simultaneous operations and high-risk tasks;

  • Planning and scheduling of maintenance service requests and work orders in line with business priority and resource availability;

  • Development and publishing weekly maintenance schedules for Flinders Ports and Logistics teams through engaging Maintenance Execution Assets and Engineering and Operations teams;

  • Review and management of backlog and forward log work orders and escalation of risks;

  • Facilitating the process to prioritise maintenance work and identify risks to safety productivity and cost performance;

  • Engaging with group procurement team and suppliers to ensure accurate plans of parts and third party resource availability;

  • Management of contractor engagement from planning scheduling and pre-work check sheets to post work inspection reports including entry into Maximo and creation of follow-on work orders;

  • Management of role specific master data including updating job plans PM schedules and work instructions;

  • Developing maintenance schedules to minimise equipment downtime through grouping of maintenance tasks;

  • Liaising with the capital development team to deliver an integrated maintenance and capital works schedule to minimise interruptions to the business; and

  • Reporting of maintenance KPI performance including work completion outstanding work orders and forward log resource requirements.

About you

To be successful in this role you will ideally have experience in a similar role this could include maintenance or facilities management planning / coordination or another similar function. A relevant trade qualification (electrician civil construction building) is advantageous however not a necessity.

Our perfect candidate will value building relationships and engaging with a diverse group of stakeholders across the business to find solutions and deliver great outcomes. Exposure to heavy industry or facilities management maintenance and understanding of maintenance principles will be advantageous. You will have the ability to engage with a broad stakeholder base and balance requirements of different stakeholder groups. You will utilise your problem solving skills and solutions focus to prioritise workload whilst delivering routine requirements.

This is a permanent full-time position working with stakeholders across the Flinders Port Holdings businesses at Outer Harbor Inner Harbor and regional locations. The working week will be Monday to Friday and whilst the majority of work hours are based in our Port Adelaide office flexible work options are available including some opportunity to work flexibly from home and to adapt hours of work to balance your work and personal life.
