Candidate Technologist Transport Planning

Job Summary
Here is what you will be doing:
As a Candidate Technologist in our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering Team you will be responsible for undertaking specialised analysis and developing traffic / transportation designs on a diverse array of infrastructure projects. These projects will encompass major roads public transport systems non-motorized transport railway corridors ports and harbours as well as urban developments across Africa and beyond.
Technical Excellence:
- Contributes to development of designs by gathering correlating and analysing engineering data using computer software and established procedures and standards.
- When possible collects and analyses information from discipline and interdisciplinary project models.
- Develops the design content with support by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure the production of high-quality outputs by following project timelines.
- Works on well-defined and routine engineering assignments involving calculations specifications sketches diagrams specific discipline models drawings reports and tender documents.
- Performs work under the agreed-upon budget and schedule with supervision.
- Coordinates with other team members as applicable for the design processs continuity.
- Maintains and develops a high level of technical skills and abilities ensuring the quality of production for accuracy.
Qualifications :
Here is what we are looking for:
- Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Technology from an accredited University
- Preferably registered as a Candidate Technologist with ECSA
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar role is essential.
- Experience in transportation planning studies traffic analysis and modelling as well as the design of transportation and traffic infrastructure.
- Familiarity with transport modelling software (e.g. PTV SIDRA Synchro) GIS applications design/drafting software (e.g. AutoDesk Civil 3D Bentley) is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret data and effectively present findings.
- Capacity to deliver high quality work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
