Job Summary

You will engage in the preparation and installation of beam line mechanical supports in beam line facilities (i.e Targets cavern). This includes participating in the fabrication follow-up assembling tasks logistics and installation.

Your responsibilities

  • Conduct the dismantling/assembling activities of the beam line equipment.
  • Actively participate in all stages of the mechanical equipment readiness from production to installation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers coordination teams and other technicians.
  • Communicate and report the advancement of the work to the supervisor and project managers.

- Practical experience in mechanical assembling.
- Experience in reading 2D drawings (ISO-GPS).
- Knowledge of preparation of mechanical assembly work (orders BOM logistics... )
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software and Microsoft Office pack.

  • Design of mechanical equipment and structures.
  • Knowledge and application of manufacturing methods and work preparation.
  • Organization planning and control of tasks.
  • Installation of mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of design codes and compliance verification of mechanical equipment.
  • Spoken and written English or French with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants with a Bachelors Masters or PhD degree are not eligible.

Additional Information :

Job closing date: 11.05.2026 at 12:00 AM (midnight) CEST.

Contract duration: 24 months with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours: 40 hours per week

Job flexibility: Fully Onsite

Target start date: 01-July-2026

  • Work in Radiation Areas.
  • Interventions in underground installations.
  • A valid driving licence.
