Data Engineer

Join our exciting team as a Data Engineer with the following job scope:

• Architect and implement data solutions on our large-scale data platform Hadoop using PySpark.
• Write complex and efficient SQL queries to extract and transform data from various sources.
• Design build and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow and Kafka.
• Develop and optimize data processing jobs on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform leveraging services such as Azure Data Lake Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data products.
• Ensure data quality and integrity across all systems.
• Monitor troubleshoot and optimize the performance of our data infrastructure.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the Big Data space.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer in a Big Data environment.
• Proven hands-on experience with the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS MapReduce YARN).
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong programming skills in Python specifically with the PySpark library.
• Extensive experience of workflow management tools particularly Apache Airflow.
• Basic knowledge of messaging and streaming platforms especially Apache Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with ticket systems (JIRA Azure Devops).
• Experience with cloud platforms preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Basic skills with business intelligence tools (PowerBI Tableau).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in an intercultural agile team.
• Excellent communication skills in English German skills are a plus.
