Data Manager – Commercial, Sales and Product (Selling Data)
Job Summary
About the Role:
The Data Manager owns the end-to-end definition quality and governance of commercial sales and product data used for selling. The role ensures that data is trusted consistent and fit for purpose across systems reporting and decision-making.
This is a hands-on ownership role accountable for data standards lifecycle and outcomes working across functions rather than leading a team.
Your future responsibilities:
- Act as the single point of accountability for commercial sales and product (for selling) data.
- Own data definitions hierarchies attributes and usage standards across the data lifecycle.
- Ensure data is consistently applied across source systems reporting and downstream consumers.
- Define and enforce data quality standards controls and validation rules.
- Proactively identify prioritise and resolve data quality issues and root causes.
- Maintain documentation for data definitions rules and ownership.
- Partner with data governance forums to ensure alignment to enterprise standards.
- Ensure data supports core selling motions including pipeline bookings pricing product eligibility and performance reporting.
- Work closely with sales operations commercial product and finance teams to align data to business needs.
- Support new product launches pricing changes and go to market updates through data readiness.
- Oversee how commercial sales and product data flows across CRM ERP pricing and reporting platforms.
- Partner with technology and data engineering teams to define requirements and prioritise fixes or enhancements.
- Validate that changes to systems or processes do not compromise data integrity.
- Ensure that reports dashboards and KPIs are underpinned by consistent trusted data.
- Act as the point of escalation for data definition or metric disputes.
- Enable analysts and reporting teams with clear governed datasets.
- Identify opportunities to simplify data structures reduce manual effort and improve scalability.
- Drive improvements in data processes controls and ways of working.
- Support transformation initiatives by embedding strong data foundations.

Your profile:
- Experience in a data management data ownership or data governance role.
- Strong understanding of commercial sales and product data in a selling context.
- Proven experience improving data quality and defining data standards.
- Strong understanding of master data and data lifecycle management.
- Ability to operate with accountability and influence without line management.
- Experience working with CRM ERP and pricing systems.
- Exposure to enterprise data governance frameworks.
- Experience supporting largescale change or transformation initiatives.
- Ownership driven and comfortable being accountable for outcomes.
- Structured detail focused and disciplined in approach.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Pragmatic solution-oriented and commercially minded.
- Comfortable operating across ambiguity and complexity.
