Our Austin Equipment Yardhas an outstanding opportunity for a Lead Heavy Asphalt Equipment Repair Technician/Mechanicfor heavy civil projects in the North Texas area. Our technician is responsible for maintaining diagnosing and repairing various types of asphalt paving equipment including pavers road rollers and milling machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates smoothly
- Identify mechanical electrical and hydraulic issues by using diagnostic equipment or by performing hands-on tests
- Repairing or replacing broken parts such as engines transmissions hydraulic systems and electrical components
- Maintain detailed service records for each piece of equipment for warranty compliance and tracking purposes
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3 years of service and repair experience with asphalt paving equipment
- Prefer experience with Roadtec Wirtgen Vogele Weiler and other various brands of asphalt paving equipment
- Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance skills
- Maintenance & Repair and Troubleshooting abilities
- Mechanical aptitude with required knowledge of:
- Diesel engines
- Transmissions
- Electrical systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Ability to work with hand tools power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Must have a strong commitment to jobsite safety
- Diligent in demonstrating safe work practices
Requirements:
- High school diploma GED or vocational training/certification
- Valid drivers license
- Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold warm and hot temperatures
- Must be able to work hours adjusted to meet the projects needs; days nights and weekends
