Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Wire EDM Operator to join our precision machining team. This role is responsible for setting up programming and operating Wire EDM machines to produce high-precision components that meet tight tolerances and quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint reading skills attention to detail and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate Wire EDM machines (Fanuc Mitsubishi Makino or similar)
Read and interpret blueprints drawings and GD&T specifications
Program or edit programs (G-code) as needed
Perform machine offsets and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances
Inspect finished parts using micrometers calipers gauges and other precision tools
Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and keep work area clean
Document production data and maintain quality records
Work closely with engineering and quality teams to meet production goals
Qualifications
2 years of Wire EDM experience in a precision machining environment
Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T
Experience with tight tolerances (.0001 preferred)
Familiarity with G-code programming/editing
Experience with inspection tools and quality standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam Esprit or similar)
Tool & die mold making or aerospace/medical part experience
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Frequent bending stooping and reaching
