We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support general contracting preconstruction and project coordination activities across multiple active commercial construction projects. This is a contractor-side role focused on scope coordination submittals RFIs quantity take-offs and estimating support and does not involve producing design drawings or performing engineering calculations.
The ideal candidate has experience working with a general contractor or design-build firm is comfortable supporting several projects simultaneously and understands GC workflows subcontractor coordination and multi-trade scope management in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Preconstruction & Estimating Support
Perform quantity take-offs for architectural finishes and general contracting scopes including carpentry drywall ceilings flooring and general conditions.
Support estimating and preconstruction activities including BOQ preparation scope breakdowns and pricing support.
Assist in subcontractor bid review scope leveling and identification of gaps overlaps and clarifications.
Review drawings specifications and addenda to ensure complete scope coverage and identify coordination or constructability concerns.
Submittals & RFIs (Core Responsibility)
Independently prepare issue track and close submittals including shop drawings material data and samples.
Coordinate submittal reviews with architects consultants subcontractors and internal project teams.
Prepare and manage RFIs particularly those related to scope clarification constructability and submittals.
Maintain accurate submittal and RFI logs ensuring timely follow-ups and approvals.
Project Coordination & Documentation
Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination across multiple concurrent projects.
Coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents to align preconstruction deliverables with construction execution needs.
Upload organize and manage drawings specifications addenda and revisions while maintaining document control standards.
Maintain organized project documentation logs and tracking reports.
Coordinate with subcontractors and consultants to resolve technical issues and meet project deadlines.
Support project handover and closeout documentation as required.
Requirements
Must-Have
Bachelors degree in Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering or Architecture with contractor-side experience.
Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).
13 years of experience in a contractor-side role such as Project Engineer Technical Office Engineer or Site Engineer with office and coordination responsibilities.

Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Preferred
Experience working with a General Contractor or Design-Build firm.
Exposure to commercial healthcare animal care or fit-out projects.

Experience coordinating multi-trade scopes and working closely with subcontractors.
