Job Summary

The ED Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering fast-paced high-acuity care to patients with diverse emergent medical needs including but not limited to:
  • Triage & Assessment:Rapid assessment of patients to determine the severity of their condition.
  • Patient Care:Providing competent nursing care including medication administration treatments and monitoring vital signs.
  • Critical Thinking:Utilizing the nursing process (assessment diagnosis planning implementation evaluation) to handle unpredictable urgent situations.
  • Collaboration:Working with an interdisciplinary team (physicians specialists) to develop and implement care plans.
  • Patient Advocacy:Educating patients and families ensuring compassion and comfort.
Requirements
  • Education:Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required; Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) or MSN preferred.
  • Licensure:Current RN licensure in Virginia North Carolina or a compact state.
  • Experience:Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required (Emergency Intensive Care Intermediate Care or Med/Surg preferred).
  • Certifications:BLS required within 90 days of hire; ACLS and PALS or ENPC required within 1 year of hire.
