Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:Assess triage and stabilize patients with varying degrees of acute illness or injury in a 35-bed unit.
- Clinical Procedures:Administer medications perform wound care insert IVs and assist with life-saving interventions.
- Monitoring & Evaluation:Continuously monitor vital signs document changes and initiate corrective actions based on assessment.
- Documentation:Maintain accurate timely electronic medical records (EMR) following all regulatory and nursing standards.
- Collaboration:Work collaboratively with attending physicians Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Advocacy & Education:Provide emotional support and education to patients and families during crisis situations.
Requirements:
- Licensure:Valid RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Education:RN Diploma ADN BSN or MSN.
- Certification:BLS (required within 90 days) ACLS and PALS.
- Experience:Previous ED experience is required; experienced nurses looking to specialize in the ED are encouraged to apply.
- Skills:Strong critical thinking rapid assessment skills and ability to handle high-stress situations
