Position Summary
The Spout Attendant is responsible for the correct handling filling and labeling of product in the Milling area. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe high-quality and contamination-free production. Clear documentation strong housekeeping practices and effective communication with Mill Leads and coworkers are essential. A strong commitment to GMPs workplace safety cross-contamination prevention and food-safety regulations is required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Product Handling & Filling
- Monitor assigned spout(s) to ensure drum labels match the product are correctly placed and meet required weight specifications.
- Accurately fill products into drums maintaining correct fill weight and seal integrity to prevent spoilage or product degradation.
- Inspect drums for cleanliness foreign materials and defects prior to filling.
- Ensure all products are properly labeled and all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Fill product in accordance with cross-contamination prevention procedures Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and safety guidelines.
Monitoring & Documentation
- Complete the Mill Monitoring Label Verification checklist during assigned floor rotations.
- Maintain clear accurate records related to production labeling and equipment.
Equipment Tools & Safety
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly tethered and returned to designated areas during and after each shift.
- Report any safety product quality or mechanical issues to the Lead or Supervisor promptly.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance following all safe-work and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) including work boots gloves eye protection and ear protection while in designated areas.
Housekeeping & Sanitation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area including:
- Regular sweeping of floors and elevated platforms
- Discarding waste into proper containers
- Weighing and disposing of onion waste
- Keeping drum rooms and damaged drum holding areas neat
- Ensuring all walkways doors and emergency exits remain unobstructed
Teamwork & Communication
- Communicate effectively with Mill Leads and coworkers to support efficient operations.
- Assist other team members as needed or as instructed by the Lead or Supervisor.
- Participate in employee training and compliance activities as required.
