Job Summary

The School of Applied Psychology are seeking a passionate Lecturer for Placements Innovation to work collaboratively with our team on the National Mental Health Pathways to Practice Program Pilot to expand placement opportunities for students in clinical psychology and professional psychology postgraduate programs with specific emphasis on mental health and rural and remote placements. This position has a large focus on Service and Engagement as well as Teaching via supervision.

As the Lecturer for Placements Innovation you will develop and support new placement opportunities for postgraduate psychology students and their supervisors and contribute to teaching scholarship excellence and engagement activities within the discipline of Psychology. 

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Identify generate support and evaluate new placements for postgraduate psychology students that meet the project key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with the broader project team to meet the project KPIs.
  • Partner with clinical psychology and professional psychology teaching teams and placement coordinators to facilitate integrated learning experiences for students on project placements.
  • Foster excellent student experiences including through the delivery of innovative and effective teaching and learning.
  • Support high quality learning and teaching strategies that facilitate improved student retention employability and successful outcomes for students.
  • Develop meaningful and impactful partnerships with external stakeholders and the broader community to promote and enhance the student experience within the School of Applied Psychology.

This is a fixed term (ending November 2026) part-time (80%) position and is primarily based at either Griffith University Gold Coast or Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. The successful candidate will be required to undertake travel across Southeast Queensland. 

Griffith Universitys campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

 

Salary Range 

The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level B range $117076 - $139031 per annum 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $136979 - $162667 per annum. 


Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to Psychology. You will also have but not limited to:

  • A doctoral or master qualification in Psychology (or demonstrate significant progress towards the completion of such qualifications).
  • Be registered as a psychologist in Australia (AHPRA).
  • Hold the necessary qualifications to provide supervision as per the requirements of the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Have a psychology area of practice endorsement (highly regarded)

In addition to the above you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Expertise in supervision of provisionally registered psychologists.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and a readiness to contribute to the Schools success.
