Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Cardiac Monitoring:Continuously monitor and analyze heart rhythms using EKG machines interpreting and recording data to identify abnormalities.
- Patient Assessment & Care:Conduct head-to-toe assessments administer medications (IV/PO) and manage central lines wounds and chest tubes.
- Emergency Response:Promptly identify and act on life-threatening arrhythmias or changes in cardiac status.
- Documentation:Maintain accurate timely patient records in the electronic health record system.
- Collaboration & Education:Work with physicians nurses and technicians to develop care plans and educate patients/families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Requirements
- Education:Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
- License:Active RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or compact state.
- Experience:Previous experience in telemetry step-down or medical-surgical nursing preferred.
- Certifications:BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
