Job Summary
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support an acute care setting. The role involves providing speech therapy services across a wide range of patient populations including medical surgical and critical care patients.
Key Responsibilities
Provide speech therapy services based on physician orders throughout the hospital
Evaluate and treat patients with a variety of conditions including:
Stroke and neurological disorders
Dysphagia and swallowing disorders
Respiratory compromise
Cognitive and communication impairments
Support patients in acute care settings including ICU
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
Work Requirements
No local candidates within 50 miles
Variable schedule between 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Minimum 2 weekends per 4 weeks required (4 weekends preferred)
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience within speech therapy specialty
Active Georgia SLP License
CCC-SLP certification required
BLS Certification (AHA required)
Preferred Qualifications
Prior acute care experience strongly preferred
Experience with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) and/or FEES is a plus
