Job Summary

A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support an acute care setting. The role involves providing speech therapy services across a wide range of patient populations including medical surgical and critical care patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide speech therapy services based on physician orders throughout the hospital
  • Evaluate and treat patients with a variety of conditions including:
    • Stroke and neurological disorders
    • Dysphagia and swallowing disorders
    • Respiratory compromise
    • Cognitive and communication impairments
  • Support patients in acute care settings including ICU
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care

Work Requirements

  • No local candidates within 50 miles
  • Variable schedule between 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
  • Minimum 2 weekends per 4 weeks required (4 weekends preferred)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience within speech therapy specialty
  • Active Georgia SLP License
  • CCC-SLP certification required
  • BLS Certification (AHA required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior acute care experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) and/or FEES is a plus
